New PAM Centre for Malaysia Institute of Architects, Malaysia.
The design concept derived from the gist of an architect’s work nature. The new Malaysia Institute of Architects (PAM) needs a new building to cater the needs of emerging architectural practices and expanding architectural community. The idea evolved combining new facade manipulation while infusing eco-green elements to the centre.
Several vertical and horizontal louvers / planes are properly stacked up to indicate idea comes in many forms and direction while oddly shape window glaze intertwined in between them which indicate the idea boxes. The stacked planes are formed in a manner to create the solid and void surface with clear intention of bringing out various shapes and shadow casting within and on the surface of the elevation. At first glance the elevation evokes the perception of a monumental building which fits the owner’s stature for being an association to architects -The cream de la cream of society at large!
